Youth Ministry

Our Vision:

Here at Louisburg FBC our goal is to create sacred spaces and moments for youth to explore her or his relationship with the Triune God!

Our Emphasizes:

  • An important part of adolescences is discovering who we are.  Thus, we encourage youth to explore who God is inviting them to be by asking questions and thinking about how their spiritual formation impacts all of life.
  • Community is an important part of who we and what God is calling us to be.  God invites us to live into the vision and hope of God's kingdom now.  Living out the life of faith together is something we value and try to incorporate on a weekly basis as well as the other events we participate in throughout the year.
  • An important part of our weekly worship is exploring how God is speaking to us in today's world.  As a part of this discernment we slow down explore how the Scriptures are inviting us to live a meaningful life in our fast paced culture.

Weekly Opportunities:

  1. Every Sunday morning we gather for worship with the entire church through the option of our two services (8:15 a.m. & 11:00 a.m.).
  2. During our Sunday School hour (9:30 a.m.) there are separate classes for middle school and high school.
  3. Our middle school gathers during the week on Wednesday nights for "Downtime".  We begin at 6:30 p.m. in the downstairs gymnasium and finish around 8:00 p.m.
  4. High School comes together on Wednesday nights as well.  We begin at 7:00 p.m. in the youth room and wrap up around 8:30 p.m.

Monthly Opportunities:

  1. During the second Wednesday of the month our Middle School stay after "Downtime" for a time of laughter in treats as during the warmer months we head for Louisburg's local watering hole at sonic and when it's cold we head for McDonalds for a late night snack.  Youth are expected to bring their own money for this option.  Hope you can make it.
  2. The last Wednesday of the month is when our High School spend some extra time after youth group sharing life together.  As with the middle school depending on whether it is warm or cold we will gather at either McDonalds or Sonic.

Snowcreek 2014 February 16th:

We will meet at 6:00 p.m. at the church on February 16th.  Stop for dinner at McDonald's in the Legends Shopping Center.  Then we will be at Snowcreek until closing time at 2:00 a.m.  We should be back at the church by 3:30 a.m.  The cost for the event is $40 plus money for dinner at McDonald's.  Please let us know if you plan to attend by February 12.  At this time I cannot upload the Snowcreek Document up to the website so you can receive it one of two ways.  Either stop by the church office or send an email request to Seth Vopat at sethmv(at)gmail.com.  Thanks for your understanding.
